Sensory and motor skills

This is a universal area of support within East Sussex Children’s Therapy and Equipment Service. Below you can find advice, resources and signposting for children and young people with sensory and motor needs.

Children with clearly documented and enduring coordination difficulties (dyspraxia) which significantly impact on their ability to complete activities of daily living subject to meeting criteria will require the specialist expertise of an Occupational Therapist within Children’s Integrated Therapy and Equipment Service These children should continue to be referred to for specialist support. You can find full details of our specialist support offer and make a referral for specialist support at Accessing our Children's Integrated Therapy Service.

Children and young people with sensory processing difficulties in isolation (for example, not linked to motor or neurological involvement) or developmental delay or motor impairment without a neurological diagnosis and would sit outside CITES scope for specialist support.
